ViaStoria – The Organisation behind Cultural Routes of Switzerland

Cultural Routes of Switzerland is a new program which has been started by ViaStoria, Center of Transport History. ViaStoria is a technical institution specialised about the history of trafic routes. It is a spin-off of the University of Bern.

Mandated by the national state, ViaStoria has made an inventory of all the historical trafic routes in Switzerland (IVS). ViaStoria is also active in research and publication as well as in technical consultations in order to maintain the routes of historical importance.

Once Cultural Routes of Switzerland had been established, ViaStoria took over as the umbrella marketing organisation, and became responsible for maintaining the national information platform, producing its publications, ensuring a uniformity of quality and marketing the products at a national level.
